The State Theatre
The curtain is rising on a new chapter for the historic State Theatre in Downtown Kalamazoo. On Sept. 29, our own Dan and Holly Carmichael purchased The State Theatre, marking a new era for this beloved venue as it prepares for its centennial celebration. Built in 1927, The State Theatre has stood as a cultural beacon and community gathering space, connecting generations through shared live experiences. Dan and Holly are thrilled to be the new stewards of this venerated space.

Dan Carmichael
Dan Carmichael hails from a cornfield in Michigan and started comedy straight out of high school. After a detour into the real world and a real job, he’s rediscovered his love for the stage. Now back in comedy, Dan has worked with legends like Doug Stanhope, Rory Scovel, Todd Barry, Tommy Chong and Bobcat Goldthwait. Dan delivers on life's absurdities with an off-kilter eye.
